HINTS FOR USING AV EQUIPMENT
AUDIOTAPE PLAYERS
CALIPHONE 5230AV
Cassette Player/Recorder (in library & hallway study carrels):
-
Plug headphones into
#1 jack, marked EXT/HP (farthest one back). Additional headphones may be
plugged into remaining jacks.
-
Player has Varispeed
and Cue/Review features.
-
(For varispeed control,
rotate dial on side panel.)
CALIPHONE 3410AV
Cassette Player (in library):
-
Plug headphones into
first jack, marked HP/EXT SPK. Additional headphones may be plugged into
2nd jack, or 5 more on back panel.
-
Player has Cue/Review
feature.
VIDEOTAPE
PLAYERS
-
Turn on videotape
player and monitor. Plug headphones into the jacks on the front of the
table or cabinet, not into the machine itself.

Wait for STANDBY light
between each function of the player.
-
Press STOP before
changing function or direction.
-
Rewind tape completely
before returning to library desk.
-
Turn off equipment
-- both player and monitor.
NOTE: Some
videotapes do not work well in some players. If the sound or video is missing,
try using the tape in another player. Report any problems to the library
staff.
SLIDE PROJECTORS
-
Set the power switch
to the LOW position.
-
The slide tray must
be in the ZERO position to insert it onto or remove it from any other position.

Slides that
will not drop into position:- Try pressing the large SELECT button
a couple of times to help drop the slide.

Slides that
jam and fail to lift back into the tray: Ask for help and learn
how to remove the tray and replace the slide correctly.
IMPORTANT:
Do not poke at slides with any sharp objects, since this may cause permanent
damage to the slide. ASK FOR HELP!
Do not remove the
lock ring from the tray.
