Placement Sites Eligibility

LRP providers are encouraged to search for employment in areas listed on the New Jersey Medically Underserved Index (NJMUI) or designated Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs). Sites located in NJMUI/HPSA areas does not guarantee LRP placement site approval (see Site Eligibility section below). Non-participating sites, regardless of location, must submit a LRP site application for consideration.

Interested provider candidates are encouraged to enroll in the LRP for assistance in job placement at an approved site. LRP does not publish a list of approved LRP sites. However, LRP staff will circulate resumes to participating LRP sites on behalf of approved providers. LRP placement sites will contact providers directly to initiate the interview process.

Site Obligation
Participating placement sites are required to hire LRP providers to work at the site on a full-time basis (40 hrs/wk), and renew employment on an annual basis for two to four years with satisfactory performance. Placement sites must offer LRP providers comparable salaries and benefits based on prevailing rates in the surrounding area.

Site Eligibility
Placement sites seeking loan redemption for their primary care providers must:

  • Accept Medicaid/Medicare

  • Use/establish sliding fee scale for patients falling under 250% of the federal poverty levels

Requests for site eligibility, site applications, and/or technical assistance should be directed to the LRP office directly.
