Mission

The purpose of the Primary Care Loan Redemption Program (LRP) is to increase and improve the provision of primary care services by encouraging providers to serve in state designated underserved areas and health professional shortage areas (HPSAs) throughout New Jersey. In exchange, LRP providers may redeem up to $120,000 over a four-year period of service for eligible loans used to finance their medical/dental education. Primary care professionals eligible for LRP include Allopathic (MD) and Osteopathic (DO) physicians in the specialties of Family Medicine, General Internal Medicine, General Pediatrics, and Obstetrics/Gynecology; General Dentists; Pedodontists; Certified Nurse Practitioners; Certified Nurse Midwives; and Physician Assistants.
