The UMDNJ --University Libraries currently licenses Access Medicine, DynaMed, eMedicine, First Consult/Pocket Consult and InfoPOEMs/Inforetriever. Each of these resources can be used on either a Palm Pilot or Pocket PC; some of them may be compatible with Smart Phones or other Handheld devices.

Library staff can provide instruction in the use of both handheld devices and of the licensed resources. Additionally, limited troubleshooting of syncing, SD memory cards,
and general operation of these devices may be available.

The George F. Smith library has an electronic classroom that can accommodate up to ten (10) individuals with their PDA devices for group instruction. Librarians are available to provide product demonstrations and are available for individual consultations both in the library or in the hospital or office.
