UMDNJ University Libraries Short Announcements 2007

2007 Holiday Book Drive for Kids December 15 - January 31 -- Please donate your new or "nearly new" children's books in the lobby of the George F. Smith Library of the Health Sciences. To benefit the Newark Bag o' Books Program. Books will be distributed to the after school tutoring centers in Newark.

The EBM Reviews databases from Ovid have been cancelled. These are: ACP Journal Club; Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials; Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews; Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects; and EBM Reviews.

They have been replaced with the the Cochrane Library from Wiley. The Cochrane Library combines seven databases: Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews; Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects; Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials; Cochrane Database of Methodology Reviews; Cochrane Methodology Register; Health Technology Assessment Database; NHS Economic Evaluation Database.

Electronic access to Lexis-Nexis and the Oxford English Dictionary has been dropped due to budget changes. The G.F. Smith Library in Newark has a print edition of the OED.

The 2006 Board Review in Hematology lectures are now available in DVD and audio formats from the Newark Media & Microcomputer Center. The discs circulate for one week.

Re-Register your InfoPOEMS/InfoRetriever Account Now: This a reminder that all UMDNJ users must re-register InfoRetriever on their Pocket PC, Palm OS and Windows PCs, if you have not already, or the application will freeze. When you re-register, InfoRetriever will function for another year on your respective device. However, if you have NOT registered since last year, you will need to register again so the new code will reflect our institution's new expiration date.
