Transition to the UMDNJ ID Number
UMDNJ has discontinued the use of a Social Security Number as a primary identifier effective Monday October 25, 2004. The University Libraries will be transitioning from the use of Social Security Numbers to UMDNJ ID Numbers for library/remote access registration as follows.
UMDNJ Students, Faculty, and Staff who register with the Libraries starting October 25th, 2004
Effective Monday October 25, 2004, you will need to provide your UMDNJ ID Number when you register at any of the University Libraries.
You will not be allowed to register without it.
• Use the last 4 digits of the UID for remote access to electronic resources.
• Use the full UID for patron login in the University Libraries Catalog.
UMDNJ Students, Faculty, and Staff who registered with the Libraries before October 25, 2004
• Continue to use the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number for remote access to
electronic resources.
• Use the full Social Security Number for patron login in the University Libraries Catalog.
You do not need to bring us your new UMDNJ ID Number. The Libraries will be loading UID Numbers from the University's Banner system to ours in several batches. When this has been accomplished, we will announce that you need to use the last 4 digits of your UMDNJ ID Number for remote access to electronic resources, and the full number for patron login in the Catalog.
Non-UMDNJ Affiliated Patrons
Non-UMDNJ affiliated patrons who qualify for remote access privileges will continue to use the last 4 digits
of the Social Security Number for remote access to electronic resources.
