This Web page provides links to three free online resources. They are: American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language; Roget’s II: The New Thesaurus; and, American Heritage Book of English Usage.
- BUBL LINK
This is a catalog of English-language dictionary resources. It originates in the UK and presents some useful choices with helpful annotations.
- Cambridge Advanced Learners Dictionary Online
Type a term in the text box and be taken to a standard list of definitions.
- Dictionary of Difficult Words
Search the Hutchinson Dictionary of Difficult Words, published in the UK. This resource contains links to 13,000+ “difficult” words.
