    See other mongraphs covering 65 professional specialties and three consumer areas, complete with full streaming video, audio, and color images suitable for clinical and teaching purposes. eMedicine also contains a section of Tools, such as Case of the Week.
  • GIDEON-Global Infectious Disease Database
    This is an evidence-based online product that can aid clinicians in diagnosing patients with an infectious disease. GIDEON also offers detailed world-wide epidemiology profiles of infectious diseases, bioterrorism information on those illnesses, appropriate drug therapy, and a Microbiology module to assist in identifying causative agents such as bacteria, mycobacteria, or yeasts. UMDNJ Libraries does not subscribe to this database at this time, but you may choose to visit the GIDEON site for a free 15 day-trial.

    Includes articles on drugs outside of U.S.
  • Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database
    This has monographs of both U. S. and Canadian drugs.

    This is a database of mainly reproductive health literature. However their are links to information on malaria, AIDS/HIV, and sexually transmitted

Electronic Books & Travel Medicine

  • AccessMedicine
    This includes books on various travel topics such as altitude sickness, motion sickness, traveler's diarrhea. A good strategy is to use the accessmedicine search box and type in a travel topic of choice to see which accessmedicine e-books may cover the topic. For instance, Harrison's Online has a section on air travel and altitude sickness. Tintinalli's Emergency Medicine and Current Medical Diagnosis and Treatment both include chapters on traveler's diarrhea.

    Use the main search page to find textbook chapters on Travel Medicine. There are no specific textbooks subscribed to by UMDNJ in this collection dedicated specifically to travel medicine.
