Sources of Critical Appraisal of
Research Articles for Physician’s Core

InfoRetriever (now called Essential Evidence Plus) contains InfoPOEMsPatient Oriented Evidence That Matters – that also provide critiques of clinically relevant research articles. A special emphasis is placed on outcomes, with the thought that the information may influence practice. Information is assigned a “Level of Evidence” (LOE) score that indicates its strength. Essential Evidence Plus now includes EBM Guidelines (EBMG) in place of the the non-evidence based reference text, 5-Minute Clinical Consult. EBMG is produced by the Finnish Medical Society Duodecim and includes a concise, easy-to-use collection of more than 950 Practice Guidelines, more than 3,000 Evidence Summaries, and more than 1,000 images.

Using InfoRetriever


DynaMed is a "Just-In-Time" Internet reference integrating evidence based medicine with practical information for clinical practice on about 3,000 clinical topics. Summaries of topics include context links to critically appraised articles. Extensive drug summaries are incorporated into disease and condition monographs of DynaMed. DynaMed content is updated as new evidence is identified in the literature.
DynaMed for PDA is now available. To obtain a serial number: Email dynamedsupport@epnet.com from your UMDNJ email account (no other email accounts will be accepted) requesting a serial number for your PDA device, or, ask for a serial number from a reference librarian at your UMDNJ campus library.
