AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) Installed

An AED has been installed in the UMDNJ – George F. Smith Library of the Health Sciences.  It is located on the wall across from the electronic classroom, next to the Media Center service desk.

The AED uses voice prompts and visual indicators to guide a rescuer through a resuscitation sequence that may include defibrillation and/or cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Special training is not required to use these units.

The AED is for emergency use only.  The cabinet housing the device is alarmed and will sound if opened.

Although no specific skills are required to use the AED, training information may be found at:  http://njmsstaging.umdnj.edu/ZOLL%20Inside_the_Rescue.wmv.
