Message from the Senior Vice President & General Counsel

Welcome to the home page for the Office of Legal Management.

The Office of Legal Management serves as in-house counsel for the Board of Trustees, schools, health care units, administration and staff of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. We are your primary resource for legal advice concerning all aspects of our threefold mission of education, research and patient care. We provide our clients with legal advice, prepare legal documents, write and review contracts, respond to litigation, and protect intellectual property rights.

Our goal is to provide timely, accurate, and helpful legal advice, representation and services to our UMDNJ clients. To fulfill our mission, University attorneys and support staff are located on the Newark, New Brunswick, Somerset, and Stratford Campuses. All of our attorneys possess both general expertise in law and specialized knowledge about key issue areas like health care, research, labor and employment, purchasing, and education.

We are in the process of developing this web page to serve as a resource to educate the University community about who we are, what we do, and about the pertinent legal issues and policies that impact your daily life at UMDNJ.
