PeaceKeepers
Target Audience: Adult Conflict Intervention Team Leaders
Subject Matter: Conflict Resolution & Peacekeeping Among Youth
Project Content: Training & Program Consultation
This program provides technical assistance for organizations that wish to recruit, train, and/or supervise conflict intervention teams (CITs) at school and community-based sites.
CIT members conduct services such as anti-violence campaigns, violence prevention training groups, mentoring, tutoring, and mediations with individuals (youth or adults) who have disputes. In the process, they reward positive behaviors by granting PeaceKeeper awards. All of the violence prevention and conflict-managment activities addressed may be applied to on-site peacekeeping initiatives with school-aged youths, from kindergarten to 12th grade.
Training objectives, as well as the schedule for PeaceKeepers training and consultation, can be tailored to meet the needs and goals of a particular conflict intervention team.
