PURPOSE: To set policy regarding the vacating of University premises.
RESPONSIBILITY: The Vice President for Human Resources is to ensure compliance with the policy.
POLICY:
Staff members are required to leave the University's leased or owned premises promptly at the end of their regular or extended tour of duty. This is necessary to avoid the disruption of the work of other staff members, faculty, or other activities of the University, and to ensure compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (F.L.S.A.) .
Staff members while off duty are not to visit the hospital or University except on officially sanctioned business or to visit a particular patient.
Failure by non-supervisory/non-managerial staff members to comply with the above will result in the staff member being formally counseled followed by progressive discipline (written warning, suspension, termination) for subsequent violations.
Staff members whether on or off duty are expected to conduct themselves appropriately and adhere to all University policies, rules and regulations while on University leased or owned premises. Appropriate disciplinary action up to and including termination will be taken based on the severity of the infractions).
