Statement of UMDNJ Board Chairman Robert Del Tufo on the Subject of a Presidential Search

"We received the July 19 letter from the U.S. Attorney regarding the initiation of a search for a permanent UMDNJ president. We are, and indeed have been, in full agreement that such a search should be initiated in a timely fashion. As we advised the U.S. Attorney before receipt of his letter, we have been actively addressing the matter, including attention to the size and composition of the search committee and to the process itself. The matter will be addressed at the board’s meeting on July 25. All of this is more fully detailed in my letter of July 18 to the U.S. Attorney."
