Senior Health Seminar Planned for UMDNJ Stratford Campus
STRATFORD— In celebration of Older Americans Month, the New Jersey Institute for Successful Aging (NJISA), at the UMDNJ-School of Osteopathic Medicine, will host a senior health fair on Wednesday, May 31, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., in the medical school’s Academic Center, on Laurel Road, in Stratford.
"Aging Well: Your Guide to a Healthy, Happy Life" begins with a health forum featuring NJISA experts, including Dr. Anita Chopra, director of educational and clinical programs, Claire DiVito, NJISA education coordinator and Dr. Stephen Scheinthal, a geriatric psychiatrist at the institute. This three-part discussion will cover the importance and timing of appropriate health screenings, the healthy body - healthy mind connection and the health benefits from maintaining a positive attitude. Following the health forum, exhibitors and UMDNJ experts will be on-hand to answer questions and to provide free health screenings for diabetes, blood pressure, body fat and balance.
To register to attend, call the UMDNJ-School of Osteopathic Medicine at 856-566-6207 or e-mail to sominfo@umdnj.edu.
