More than 800 Minority-Owned Businesses Expected at UMDNJ Vendors Fair
--Event Scheduled for October 17 in Edison--

10/13/05—The Office of Supplier Diversity and Vendor Development at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) is hosting the 11th Annual UMDNJ Procurement Fair and Awards Luncheon on Monday, October 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sheraton at Woodbridge Plaza, 515 Route 1 South in Iselin.

The purpose of the event is to introduce vendors who do business with UMDNJ to other potential business clients. Among the 50 exhibitors at the event will be school districts, colleges and universities, NJTRANSIT, Novartis, construction companies, and Morgan Chase.

In addition, the fair will offer seven workshops to help small business owners learn effective strategies for developing strategic growth plans, securing financing, and meeting challenges faced by minority business owners. Between 800 and 900 vendors are expected to attend the event.

The Office of Supplier Diversity and Vendor Development was established in 1986 to assist in the development of business opportunities with the university and other organizations for small, minority, women-owned and veteran-owned businesses.
