UMDNJ Hosts Conference To Highlight
Strategies for Eliminating Racial and Ethnic Disparities
4th Annual Conference on Culturally Competent
Care to be held in Philadelphia on Sept. 18-20
Health care professionals are invited to attend the 4th
Annual Conference on Culturally Competent Care at the Loews Philadelphia
Hotel, in Philadelphia, from Sept. 18 to Sept. 20. The conference
is hosted by the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey
(UMDNJ)-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The conference, entitled "Multicultural Health Care: A Mosaic
for the New Millennium," will look at strategies to improve the
health and wellness of a diverse patient population by identifying,
understanding, and implementing cultural competency best practices.
The UMDNJ Center for Continuing and Outreach Education, which
is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical
Education, will provide continuing medical education credits.
Pfizer Inc. is a founding sponsor of the conference. In addition
to the UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, the conference
is sponsored by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, The California
Endowment, and the Office of Minority Health of the United States
Department of Health and Human Services.
