Raritan Bay Medical Center Becomes Major Clinical Affiliate of UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School

Raritan Bay Medical Center and University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School have signed an agreement designating the medical center to a major clinical affiliate of the medical school.

Through the new agreement, Raritan Bay Medical Center, which has had an internal medicine affiliation with the medical school for 25 years, is adding programs in obstetrics and gynecology and pediatrics.

"This agreement advances our commitment to excellence in the pursuit of our core missions in education, research, patient care and community health," said Dr. Harold L. Paz, dean of UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Michael R. D'Agnes, president and chief executive officer of Raritan Bay Medical Center, said, "Expectant mothers now have access to new and enhanced maternal fetal services, high risk evaluation and treatment and an elevated level of care for newborns. Our pediatric patients also will have increased access to specialty services such as neonatologists and pediatric emergency services. Our patients will receive the highest quality care close to home from outstanding doctors who have the added experience of teaching other medical professionals."
