Announce Expanded Relationship
University Medical
Center at Princeton Designated as University Hospital Affiliate
PRINCETON and NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J.,
June 7, 2003 - University Medical Center at Princeton, formerly
known as The Medical Center at Princeton, and University of Medicine
and Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School
today announced that they have signed a new affiliation agreement
to expand their relationship. In July, University Medical Center
at Princeton (UMCP) will become a University Hospital Affiliate
of UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. UMCP has been a teaching
hospital for 30 years.
"This new affiliation agreement
advances our commitment to excellence in the pursuit of our core
missions in medical education, basic and clinical research, patient
care and community health," said Harold L. Paz, M.D., dean, UMDNJ-Robert
Wood Johnson Medical School. "This new designation enhances the
medical center's status and reinforces its commitment with our
institution."
Through the new affiliation agreement,
the medical school will expand its existing relationship with
the medical center in undergraduate and graduate medical education
for more than 100 medical students, residents and fellows each
year, as well as in clinical research.
