UMDNJ-School
of Osteopathic Medicine Sponsors Cancer Survivor Day Celebration
The University of Medicine
and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ)-School of Osteopathic Medicine
invites cancer survivors and their families to a special National
Cancer Survivors Day celebration on Sunday, June 2, from noon to
3 p.m., on the school's East Laurel Road campus in Stratford.
This family-oriented
event will include an outdoor barbeque, face-painting, keepsake
family photographs and commemorative T-shirts. Former cancer patients
will share their survival stories and everyone who attends can lend
their artistic talents to help create a giant "Celebrate Life!"
mural in the school's Academic Center.
During Cancer Survivors
Day, UMDNJ physicians and scientists will present the latest information
on cancer research, diagnosis and treatment and exercise physiologists
and nutritionists from the University Wellness Center will share
nutrition tips and demonstrate exercise and massage therapy for
cancer survivors.
