HIPAA Training

The Office of Compliance and Corporate Integrity offers HIPAA training:

HIPAA HIPAA stands for the "Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, Public Law 104-191." HIPAA is a federal law. HIPAA includes three sets of rules: Administrative Simplification (Transactions and Code Sets), Privacy, and Security. The HIPAA Privacy Rule, which affects the delivery of health care services and operations, requires protection of patient information so as not to interfere with patient access to, or the quality of, health care delivery. Under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, a requirement is that all covered entities, such as UMDNJ, must comply with the electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI) standards.
