Master of Science in Biomedical Science

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM:

The program is a 30 credit, one to two year, and multidisciplinary series of graduate or a mixture of graduate and medical courses. Required courses include biochemistry and molecular biology, a lab rotation and a seminar series. All other courses are electives, as is a research-based thesis. Students electing to do a research thesis can substitute 5 credits of thesis research for 5 credits of didactic course work. Electives include advanced courses in biochemistry, molecular genetics, microbiology, neuroscience, pharmacology, physiology, cell biology, pathology, biomedical computing, biostatistics and other subject areas within the graduate school. Students must maintain a B (3.0) grade point average to remain in good academic standing and to graduate. A maximum of six credits of graduate courses may be transferred with approval of the Program Director.
