| This intensive three day workshop covers topics in management and treatment of tuberculosis including epidemiology, transmission & pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of TB, TB in children and adolescents, multi-drug resistant tuberculosis, TB/HIV co-infection, surgical treatment of TB, and key aspects of patient management. The format includes lectures, discussions, and case studies. |
| This workshop is designed for licensed healthcare professionals who are actively engaged in the management of patients with tuberculosis or TB control staff responsible for program management. |

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify the principles of TB transmission, diagnosis, and treatment
- Apply guidelines for the treatment of tuberculosis, contact investigation, and the use of new diagnostic procedures to the management of patients with tuberculosis
- Discuss the management of TB in special patient populations, e.g., pediatric patients, persons with TB-HIV co-infection, and persons with drug resistant disease
- Discuss practical strategies for patient management, e.g, cultural competency, treatment adherence, and side effects of anti-TB medications
