Course Description
This training will focus on empowering TB nurses and case managers. Topics to be addressed include practical aspects of TB case management; importance of documentation; discharge planning; applicable Department of Health protocols; and strategies for working with community providers, hospitals, laboratories, different cultures, and hard to reach patients/families.

Target Audience
Nurses and case managers who care for patients with tuberculosis disease and latent TB infection (LTBI)

Objectives

Upon completion of this course participants will be able to:

  • Describe the role of case management in TB control
  • Discuss the challenges of TB case management
  • Identify practical case management strategies to address challenges
