Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

• Assess the historical perspective of tuberculosis in order to comprehend future challenges in developing effective medication regimens
• Interpret the global, national and local epidemiology of TB to better screen and treat groups at high risk
• Apply current recommendations for the risk assessment, testing, and treatment of latent TB infection to prevent development of active disease
• Coordinate with stakeholders in order to prevent missed opportunities for the diagnosis and treatment of TB in congregate settings
• Explain the relationship between TB and other co-morbid conditions to ensure proper diagnosis and treatment of TB in patients with co-morbidities

In order to meet the learning objectives and receive continuing education credits, participants are required to attend the course, and complete a course evaluation form. A post-course follow-up evaluation will be sent to participants within 2 months of the course.
