Office of Government Affairs
The Office of Government Affairs advances the University's goals by initiating, researching and monitoring local and national public policy, legislative initiatives and regulatory enforcement affecting the University.
The Office advocates for the University, representing University concerns to elected officials, and is the clearinghouse for all inquiries from legislators and regulators concerning University positions.
The Office serves as the information liaison between the University and elected representatives in Trenton, NJ and Washington, D.C. The Government Affairs staff presents University policy to key decision makers, committee staff and executive leaders through meetings and discussions, as well as through testimony at hearings. University staff, students, faculty, alumni and community partners are often called on to assist in University advocacy efforts. Included in this process is our advocacy for annual State and Federal appropriations. This influential, united voice is necessary to achieve laws and regulations that are in the best interests of the University.
For more information on the University's policies and procedures for Government Affairs, please go to the Legislative Interaction Policy.
