Global HIV Program

The Global HIV Program contributes to sustainable efforts that build capacity and infrastructure for providing HIV prevention, care and treatment services. The program offers technical assistance and training on prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT), pediatric care, and clinical trials in Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean.

Services include:

  • Development of needs assessments to identify critical issues facing care providers and program managers
  • Provision of technical assistance to governments to support their efforts to scale up HIV prevention, care and treatment programs through collaborative development of strategic plans, guidelines, materials to support health worker training, and tools and training for monitoring and evaluation
  • Development of customized training packages, curricula, health worker job aids, and educational materials
  • Development and implementation of regional training programs to support the conduct of clinical trials in resource-limited settings, including the development and training of community advisory boards and support for the development of nurse leadership in trial management
  • Dissemination of information via listserv to meet specific professional learning needs
