What We Do

BlueprintsProject Management

Facilities Planning & Construction (FP&C) provides statewide project management services to the University community for all renovations, alterations and construction projects. Project Managers are client-driven to ensure the project runs smoothly and within budget from inception to completion.

Project Management teams are assigned according to the project type, their expertise, and knowledge of the campus. They are the liaisons among the University end user, outside architectural, engineering, and construction firms coordinating and managing all project activities from design through occupancy, and directing all activities of design and construction consultants.

The Project Management Team assembles, coordinates, organizes and manages the University Project Team. The team includes representatives from the department for which the project is being implemented and representatives of Central Administration departments. The team ensures the construction is executed using University standards and provides for future serviceability. The Project Managers organize the projects and develop assignments, timetables, and responsibilities for the team members.

As primary contacts for all project related matters, the Project Managers are accountable for all activities (technical, administrative, financial, contractual) related to the design and construction of the project. All technical documents pertaining to the project are reviewed by the Project Managers to ensure code and regulatory compliance. They coordinate and manage the submission of all project documentation for permitting and implementation to the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, the regulatory agency of the University. Project Managers also ensure the appropriate documentation is submitted to any other regulatory agencies under which the University is subject to inspections and compliance.

When a project is complete, we ask the end user to complete an End User Evaluation Form so that we may evaluate our performance and continue to provide a high level of service.
