Our Community and Facilities

The Family Health Center is a modern facility with closed circuit video monitoring in many teaching rooms, to allow the faculty to observe patient care sessions by resident physicians as part of the teaching process. The center is also where the longitudinal ambulatory care training is conducted during the three years in the program.

 

Capital Health System is a pre-eminent teaching hospital in Mercer County as well as a regional provider of healthcare for people in surrounding counties. Its leadership in neonatal intensive care, obstetrics, trauma, emergency services, behavioral health services, internal medicine, and research is a daily challenge to CHS to implement the best practices, obtain the most advanced equipment and technology and achieve the highest levels of accreditation.

 

Lawrenceville, is a historic location dating back to colonial days, traversed during the Revolutionary War's battles of Trenton and Princeton. Lawrenceville is rich in early American culture dating back to 1697. For several centuries, Lawrenceville was the dynamic heart of Lawrence Township, with active merchants, two trolley lines connecting Trenton and Princeton and surrounded by farms.

Lawrenceville boasts a great school system and has outstanding private schools. One, The Lawrenceville School is one of the oldest prep schools in the United States, founded in 1810 as the Maidenhead Academy.

 

 

The area abounds in facilities, sights and activities with a blend of cultural, historical, educational, social, and sports interests.

Princeton, adjacent to Lawrenceville has been a center for learning and culture throughout its history. Princeton has been home to world-renowned scholars, scientists, writers and statesman, including two US presidents, Woodrow Wilson and Grover Cleveland. Shaped by residents of all backgrounds, Princeton has been a dynamic community, growing and changing with the times yet retaining an essential small-town quality.

Trenton, the location of Capital Health System is, at once, a capital city, a river city and a historic city. Its downtown reflects the diversity and energy of this exciting urban center, located in the hub of the Northeast region and at the core of the Route 1 growth corridor. Trenton is alive with arts and culture with an 1800 seat performance theater and an intimate cozy playhouse.

Trenton is situated on the Delaware River and is less than one hour from New Jersey shore resorts. The area abounds with recreational possibilities.

Both, Philadelphia and New York City are within an hour from the Lawrenceville, Princeton and Trenton area.
