This quarter’s meeting was an introduction to the new regional coalition, covering both Essex and Passaic Counties, with presentations on colorectal cancer screening and smoke-free outdoor air.

Mr. James Zasadzinski, a fourth-year medical student (during 2012-2013) at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, spoke on colorectal cancer screening,
and then Karen Blumenfeld, Esq. (Executive Director, Global Advisors on Smokefree Policy — GASP), Cindy Meakem, CHES (Northern NJ Tobacco Coordinator, Center for Prevention and Counseling), and Alan Kantz (GASP) spoke on local smoke-free outdoor air ordinances.
