The Essex County Cancer Coalition is supported by
the Essex Cancer Education & Early Detection (CEED) program and the NJ Department of Health & Senior Services, Office of Cancer Control & Prevention, which can be conveniently accessed at www.njcancer.gov, as well as numerous member organizations & other collaborators.

The Essex County Cancer Coalition is a diverse partnership of volunteers whose mission is to reduce the burden of cancer on residents of Essex County, New Jersey. Our major goals are to:

• Increase cancer awareness and reduce the impact of cancer on all Essex County residents through improved education, screening, access to treatment and follow-up.
• Promote awareness of and participation in cancer clinical trials and support investigations that seek to find the causes of cancer, improve care, reduce health disparities, or increase access.
• Increase communication and collaboration among all stakeholders, through diverse partnerships, to achieve an integrated program that maximizes the utilization of resources and coordinates priorities in seeking additional resources.
• Examine and prioritize an expansion of cancer control efforts throughout the county.
