Environmental & Occupational Health & Safety Services is a service-oriented department of the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ).   It was established to assist the University in providing a healthy and safe working and learning environment.

About the Module

The following module is designed to update the training you received during Initial Laboratory Safety Training.  Quiz questions are incorporated throughout and you must get each answer correct in order to proceed through the training. There is no test at the end.

Time required to complete the module

Successful completion of this module requires that you move through all pages in successive order.  It should take approximately 45 minutes.

Regulatory Training Requirements

This module incorporates the training content required by the following standards:

	PEOSH/OSHA Laboratory Safety Standard (29 CFR 1910.1450 - "Occupational Exposure to Hazardous Substances in Laboratories"),
	PEOSH/OSHA Hazard Communication/ Right to Know
	EPA Resource Conservation and Recovery Act Hazardous Waste
	OSHA/PEOSH Personal Protective Equipment Standard
	OSHA/PEOSH Formaldehyde Standard (29 CFR 1910.1048)

The training content in the module will also help you identify whether there are additional mandated health and safety training modules you must complete, such as Bloodborne Pathogens/Biosafety and IATA Shipping.
