Online Hazardous Waste
Training Module
for Departmental Hazardous Waste Coordinators
About EOHSS
Environmental & Occupational Health & Safety Services is a service-oriented department of the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). It was established to assist the University in providing a healthy and safe working and learning environment.
Who needs to Complete this Online Module?
The topic of hazardous waste is incorporated into Laboratory Safety Training which is required for all UMDNJ laboratory personnel every other year. Persons who coordinate the hazardous waste program for their laboratory must complete hazardous waste training annually. This module is used to satisfy this training requirement for the years when laboratory safety training is not required.
The names of hazardous waste coordinators should be listed in the Laboratory Safety Plan binder. The binder should be kept in a location that is accessible to all lab members.
Quiz questions are incorporated at the end of the module, and you must get each answer correct in order to proceed through the training. There is no test at the end.
Time required to complete the module
Successful completion of this module requires that you move through all slides in successive order. It should take approximately 20 minutes.
Regulatory Training Requirements
This module incorporates the training content required by the following standard:
