Instructions

The UMDNJ Chemical Redistribution Program provides faculty and staff with the opportunity to obtain chemicals free of charge. This program is currently available only to University laboratories located on the Newark and Piscataway campuses. The Chemical Redistribution Program can reduce expenses for both purchasing and waste disposal. The program emphasizes the University’s commitment to environmental protection by reducing the overall volumes of chemical waste generated.

Faculty and staff possessing unopened, uncontaminated chemicals that are not expired may donate these chemicals to the program. Researchers should select only those materials that have a high likelihood of being usable elsewhere. Please remember that this is not a way to dispose of hazardous waste, but rather a way to participate in the campuses' waste minimization efforts.

Donated chemicals can be claimed by University faculty/staff members on an as-needed basis. EOHSS will maintain an inventory of available chemicals at http://www.umdnj.edu/eohssweb/publications/chem_mart.htm.

To Donate Chemicals:
If you have chemicals which are known to be unused, uncontaminated, in their original container, and not outdated: complete the Chemical Donation Form You will be contacted by an EOHSS staff member to coordinate chemical removal.
