The Institute for Complementary
& Alternative Medicine (ICAM) is a university-wide initiative,
housed in The School of Health Related Professions. (SHRP). It serves
as a focal point for Complementary and Alternative (integrative)
Medicine within the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New
Jersey (UMDNJ).
ICAM's mission is threefold:
EDUCATION: To
be an educational resource for the University on Complementary and
Alternative medicine, and to develop evidence-based integrative
curricula and educational programs.
RESEARCH: To facilitate, conduct and obtain support
for high quality basic and clinical research in Complementary and
Alternative Medicine.
CLINICAL: To support the integration of evidence-based
Complementary and Alternative Medicine into clinical settings.
