How many times do our clients ask us about nursing homes?   Medicare.gov has a great database that has ratings of nursing homes. You can search by zip code, town, county, or ratings. Even if you don't agree that a particular facility deserves the ratings it received, it's a great starting point for conversation with families.

Of course, another great website is the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services - Long Term Care Facilities Search. This database contains listings for assisting living and day care facilities, as well as nursing homes and other services.
