  1. I need my WebCT ID or I forgot my Password. Who do I contact?
If you have UMDNJ email, first try using the beginning of your email address up to the @ sign (name@umdnj.edu so WebCT ID would = name) and for your password, use the last 4 digits of your social security number. Remember, WebCT ID's and Passwords are case sensitive. You can contact UMDNJ's Action Line at (732) 743-3200 for assistance. For Office of Ethics and Compliance suppported courses, you can fill out the online Help Request form.
  2. I am receiving an "illegal access - please do not access this script directly" error message when I try to register. What do I do?
You need to be logged out of WebCT before you attempt to register. Log out of WebCT and close all browser windows. Then, reopen a browser and try to register again. If you are still receiving the error message, restart your computer and then proceed to the registration site.
  3. I am trying to access the course and am getting the error message, "Internal conflict in creating a course account." What does this mean?
If you are receiving this error message, it means that you have already registered in the course. What you need to do is click on the "return to the course" link or alternatively, you can log in to WebCT directly by going to: http://www.umdnj.edu/webct to access the course.
  4. Why am I getting a blank page when I click on the "Log on to WebCT" link?
The settings on your web browser may not be set up for use with WebCT.
You should go to WebCT's browser tuneup page to make sure you are using a browser that is compatible with WebCT. This tuneup feature will also list detailed instructions to make sure you have the correct settings on your browser for use with WebCT. To access WebCT's browser tuneup page, go to: http://www.webct.com/tuneup
  5. When I try to log in to WebCT, I get the following message, "Page cannot be displayed." What does this mean?
There are several possible reasons why you may be receiving this message. You may not be allowed to access our site from your present location. If there is a firewall on your computer, you may need to disable the firewall or add our site to allowable sites. If you are at a place of business, you may need to contact your company's IT department to determine if you can be granted access to our site. From the WebCT Login Page (http://www.umdnj.edu/webct) click on the "Test Your Access to UMDNJ's WebCT Server" link to see if you are able to connect to our site. If the test results in a "Success" message, you may want to try the WebCT browser tuneup at http://www.webct.com/tuneup to make sure your browser is properly set up for use with WebCT. Another possible reason, is that our server may be down so you may need to try to access our site at a later time.
  6. I have successfully completed my course and have printed out my certificate of completion. What do I do with my certificate?
Consult your supervisor or faculty instructor as they may require that you submit your certificate to them. If you are involved in a research project needing IRB (Institutional Review Board) approval, consult the PI (Principal Investigator) of the project.
