UMDNJ President (Interim) Denise V. Rodgers to Deliver Keynote Address; UMDNJ to Honor Assemblywoman Sheila Y. Oliver at University Day Celebration

This will be the 28th annual celebration of University Day at UMDNJ. Main festivities will occur on the university�s Newark campus, with live video transmissions to UMDNJ campuses in New Brunswick, Piscataway, Scotch Plains and Stratford.
University Day in Newark begins at 9:30 a.m. with an academic grand rounds presentation of �Social Media in Medical Education� by the Stuart D. Cook, MD, Master Educators� Guild at the Delta Dental Educational Conference Center at UMDNJ-New Jersey Dental School. After the grand rounds event, Dr. Rodgers will deliver the day�s keynote address at 11 a.m., which will be followed by the presentation of the University Medal to Assemblywoman Oliver. The University Medal honors a distinguished New Jersey resident who has made significant contributions to support education, health care and community service in the State.
University Day concludes with the induction of new members into the Master Educators� Guild. This year�s inductees are Daniel Fine, DMD; Martin Finkel, DO; Albert Heuer, PhD, MBA, RRT; Vikas Nanda, PhD; and Ranita Sharma, MD. The Stuart D. Cook, MD, Master Educators Guild at UMDNJ was created in 1999 to emphasize the value placed upon faculty excellence in teaching. The Master Educator designation recognizes selected faculty members for their long-term commitment to excellence in education, scholarship, creativity and their ability to motivate students and garner the respect of their peers.
