Mission Statement:

Our mission is to serve the healthcare needs of our community, develop initiatives to address important health issues in this population, and educate future physicians to provide culturally competent healthcare.

FOCUS Community Health Center opened its doors in 1999 to provide primary care services to the Newark community. The staff is committed to caring for your whole family, in an environment that puts you first. Our bilingual team understands your unique needs and will develop personalized health plans to maintain your optimal health.

Our goal is to help our community stay healthy.
The center frequently participates in community health programs that include immunizations, blood pressure and diabetes screenings. In addition, through State programs, we are able to offer free cancer screening and education.

FOCUS Community Health Center is also committed to the education of future doctors. By working together with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and the New Jersey Medical School Department of Medicine, we can ensure that our students and residents become culturally competent to serve our community.

At FOCUS, new initiatives are being developed to address important health problems of our community. We are active participants in the development of projects that in the future will improve the services provided to you and your family.

Our Facilities
The FOCUS Community Health Center is equipped with eight patient rooms and a lab. Each patient room has a computer linked to the Electronic Medical Record system, allowing fast access to a patient's medical record. On-site staff includes physicians, medical assistants, a diabetes educator and a volunteer nurse.

• Breast, cervical, prostate and colorectal cancer screening offered through the SAVE Men and Women program funded by the State of New Jersey.
