OvidSP Databases and Documentation

Help While You Are Searching

Depending on the OvidSP page you are currently using, you will find links at the top of the page to:

  • Database Field Guide - Help specific to the database you are searching. If searching in multiple databases, this will let you view the Field Guides for each.
  • Ask a UMDNJ Librarian - To email a question to a librarian at the UMDNJ Libraries.
  • Display Knowledge Base - A searchable detailed database of FAQs, many very technical.
  • Help - Help specific to the your current search tab: Ovid Advanced Search (the default), Basic Search, Find Citation, Search Tools, and Search Fields.

Keep in mind that documentation and tutorials prepared by a non-UMDNJ library will include information specific to its own institution. Note that wherever you see a reference to "Ovid Syntax" tab, it has been renamed "Advanced Ovid Search".
