Printing from Journals@Ovid
Pictures of our campuses

Articles retrieved from Journals@Ovid (the Ovid Full Text link from MEDLINE and other Ovid databases), can be viewed online, emailed or saved (text only), or printed as text (with or without images).  Not all Journals@Ovid provide page images (PDF format), but more are being added.

PDF Format

Some articles are available in PDF format.  Just click on Full Text (PDF) on the right side of the page.

Ovid Format

Not all articles are available in PDF format.  If this is not available,

1. Click on Print Preview.
2. Choose a graphics option - the default is "Full size."

No Figures/Tables - Use this if you only want text or if there are not graphics in the article.
Full size - Note that very large images may be reduced in size to fit on the page.
Medium - This displays in full size format on a PC.
Small (Thumbnails) - This is what you see when the article first displays.
3. Press the "Continue" button.
4. If a print window doesn't pop up, just use your browser's print function to send the article to the printer.

Tip: Full or medium size images sometimes don't print well from the Ovid format.  If necessary, you can download and print them separately.

Viewing, Printing, and Saving Images

To view a graphic separately, just click on the image to display the full size with its caption.

Tip: When printing images, be sure to set the orientation to portrait or landscape, depending on the image.

For more information on viewing images, including suggested software for viewing tiff images, click on the "Help with image viewing" link that appears with each image in the original full text display or with the separately viewed image.
