Travel
Faculty members are permitted time away from their
academic assignments for scholarly and professional purposes,
with prior approval, subject to the provisions of the University
Policy on Travel-Related Expense Reimbursements
and subject to provision by the faculty member of adequate substitutes
for all regularly scheduled University activities during the absence.
The department Chair must approve the provisions for substitutes.
Funds for faculty travel are allocated on a departmental
basis with the following order of priorities: to officiate or
serve in an official capacity or make a formal presentation at
a professional conference or meeting; and to attend a professional
conference or meeting pertaining to the academic interests of
the faculty member. The University has the right to determine
the merits of each travel request with respect to the general
needs and interests of the University and its Schools.
