Professional and General Liability Program of
Self-Insurance
Coverage
The University provides for professional and general liability
coverage of UMDNJ faculty members with respect to activities performed
within the scope of the faculty member's UMDNJ employment (http://www.umdnj.edu/oppmweb/Policies/HTML/financial/00-01-50-86_03.html).
This liability coverage is provided for through a Program of Self-Insurance
which is governed by the terms and provisions of the New Jersey
Tort Claims Act, N.J.S.A. 59:1-1, et seq. Further
information about the terms, provisions and conditions of coverage
are available through the University's risk management department
and, also, are addressed within the aforementioned Legislative
Act.
