President's Message

On June 21, 2005, the Board of Trustees of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey approved a new Strategic Plan for AY/FY 2006-2010.

The strategic plan was developed through a year-long participatory process that involved hundreds of members of the University community, including trustees, faculty, staff, students, alumni and representatives of the Foundation of UMDNJ.

In addition to various committees, work groups and advisory councils, many more members of the University participated in ten Town Hall Meetings held on our campuses across the state, or submitted their input electronically through the comment feature of this web page. Thus, our strategic planning was not a “top down”, process but rather, emphasized inclusiveness, transparency and communication.

As we move forward with the strategic plan, a Strategic Planning Advisory Group has been established.
