We have all been following the work of the Governor's Commission on Health Science, Education and Training and its study of the future of New Jersey's three public research universities: UMDNJ, Rutgers and NJIT. The Commission's Review, Planning and Implementation Steering Committee has been meeting for the past several months to discuss the proposed restructuring. The Steering Committee established three regional University Committees to develop plans for a restructured university system. Draft reports - north, central and south - have been submitted and are available as PDF files on the UMDNJ web site.

I encourage you to submit your comments on the reports by email to comments@umdnj.edu. They will be directed to the appropriate UMDNJ representative on these committees for consideration as the discussion moves forward. I will continue to keep the University community informed.
