At UMDNJ-School of Osteopathic Medicine
“Getting the Most from Your Doctor Visit” Subject of Free Lecture on August 21

CHERRY HILL — There may be nothing more natural than two people discussing a mutual interest, but this natural process seems to break down when those two people happen to be a physician and a patient. A recent report from the national Institute of Medicine said that half of all American adults have trouble understanding and using health information they get from their physician.

Dr. Michael Voyack, an assistant professor of Family Medicine at the UMDNJ-School of Osteopathic M medicine, will provide tips on how patients and physicians can improve their communications during a free lecture, “Getting the Most from Your Doctor Visit,” on Monday, August 21, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Cherry Hill Public Library, 1100 Kings Highway North, in Cherry Hill.

Registration is required and can be made by calling the UMDNJ-School of Osteopathic Medicine at (856) 566-6207 or by e-mail at sominfo@umdnj.edu.

The UMDNJ-School of Osteopathic Medicine is one of three medical schools of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. UMDNJ comprises New Jersey's only medical schools, the state's only dental school, a nursing school, a graduate school of biomedical sciences, a school of health related professions and a school of public health on campuses in Newark, Piscataway/New Brunswick, Camden, Stratford, and Scotch Plains. UMDNJ also operates University Hospital, Newark, and University Behavioral HealthCare. It is affiliated with more than 200 health care and educational institutions throughout the state.
