Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey, granted University status in
1981.

in number of Asians receiving medical degrees,
4th in number of
African Americans, 5th in number of Hispanics, according to Black Issues in
Higher Education (July 2003). Ranked 3rd in Osteopathic Medicine degrees
awarded to Hispanics, according to Hispanic Outlook (May

Gifts and pledges in the fiscal year ending June 2004
totaled $21.6 million.
Assets grew from $160 million in 2003 to $180
million in 2004.
Investments grew from $136 million in 2003 to
$161 million in 2004.
An endowed scholarship program announced
during the last quarter of fiscal year 2003 has received
$3,225,000.
Remained in the top 10th percentile of the National Association of College and
University Business Officers Return on Investment
Study.
In fiscal year 2004, 2,291 alumni contributed nearly $522,000
to the Foundation of UMDNJ through their alumni associations.
